Honor at the Quebec Annual Triathlon 
Sylvie Charest, the year triathlete

During the Quebec Triathlon annual gala that was held in Montreal, Saturday November 24, 2007, Sylvie Charest was proclaimed the year triathlete. This title adds itself to the 2007 duathlon athlete that was awarded to her last September for her performances during the Subaru Series. During the 2007 season, Sylvie Charest has participated in 26 competitions, which include: triathlon, duathlon, running and bicycles tours in Quebec and outside of the province. She has been 22 times on the podium winning 14 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.

In duathlon, she has finished first in the senior women « Circuit de course à pied du Grand Montréal ». In the « Coupe du Québec » in duathlon she has finished second in every categorie. We remember that she has received the gold last June in Trois-Rivières for all women category.

On the Subaru Circuit, the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu athlete has cumulated 390 points during the season. She has distinguished herself in the Mont-Habitant, Sainte-Agathe and Saint-Sauveur duathlons by finishing second. She also won in her category the gold medals in duathlon of Chambly and Lac Beauport.

In duathlon, Sylvie Charest does the running and cycling. She often trains alone in running but when it comes to cycling, she joins the high caliber cyclists. “I mix with the best cyclist from the Haut-Richelieu cycling club, that helps me a lot to progress », says the athlete to the Primeur.com last July. In the day to day, she is a medical secretary and she just confirmed that she will be part of the 2008 road cycling competition for the Haut-Richelieu Megavolt Cycling Club.
